So not only is Ted Kord not around, but Booster and him were never even friends. And Max Lord never shot Ted in the face. And there’s no hope of us getting him back.

i had an incredibly terrible night’s sleep last night, one of the most restless ever. i assumed it was because of the air pressure and the intense rain and all that, but now i see what it really was: a physical reaction to this disturbance in the force. 

ted and booster have one of my favorite relationships not just in comics but in anything. the friendship that they had, the bonds they shared, the humor and all the truth to how they were portrayed—how much they meant to each other, how much ted, and ted’s death, defined who booster is and how he became that person—is one of the most compelling and beautiful bits of character building and character growth and storytelling that i have ever seen. so what does dc do?

throw it out. 

i really was a dc girl. for a long, long time. because of relationships—growth in story arcs—like what we saw with ted and booster. i don’t want to make those angry pronouncements about something i haven’t seen yet or say i’m not a dc girl anymore but this? this right here?

this. fucking. blows. 

I realized yesterday when that page from the new JLI got posted that they weren’t doing a continuation from Generation Lost, just resetting and starting over with the group. Which meant…well, no Ted (which hurts, guys, it hurts). And that Tora and Guy were probably never a couple. And that they will probably throw out everything they did with Fire and Gavril in JI:GL (which was one of the few things I really liked about that series, since they otherwise were butchering one of my favorite female character’s personalities).

I was in DC for the characters, and the friendships, and the relationships. JLI was wonderful because of these things - some of those old story arcs were so character driven that the superhero thing didn’t even need to be there, really.

Ted and Booster was (is) one of my favorite friendships. Cutting it completely from continuity just…no.

I’ve been pretty sure, from all the bad PR and sexist comments and bad handling of most everything I’ve seen that I wouldn’t be giving DC anymore of my money.  I think this about seals it.
